Privacy Policy
Effective July 16, 2026. This policy covers this website (anfinor.games) and the games published under the Anfinor Games brand, currently Tachyon Travels.
The short version
- This website sets no cookies, runs no scripts, uses no analytics, and loads nothing from third parties.
- Our games collect no personal data. Optional gameplay telemetry, if you turn it on, is anonymous: it identifies an installation, never a person.
- Raw telemetry is retained for 30 days and then expires. Opting out purges unsent data and the installation identifier immediately.
- We run no accounts, no ads, and we do not sell data.
Gameplay telemetry
The game can send anonymous gameplay telemetry that helps us find bugs and improve the game. It is consent-first, and it works like this:
- Off by default. In the released game and the demo, telemetry is off until you opt in. Before you opt in, no telemetry identity, event, or queue exists at all. You can opt in or out at any time in Settings.
- Playtest builds are the one exception. Participating in the closed Playtest requires playtest telemetry, acknowledged in a separate prompt when the playtest starts. If you decline, the playtest exits and nothing is sent.
- Anonymous by construction. Events are keyed to a random installation identifier (a UUID generated on your device) plus a random session identifier per launch. Neither is derived from your Steam account, your hardware, your device model, or any file on your machine. They identify one installation of the game, not a person, and cannot be joined across devices.
Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis for telemetry is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings; withdrawal stops collection and purges local telemetry data, as described under Data retention.
What telemetry contains
Telemetry is limited to a fixed, versioned list of gameplay events: session start and end, game-mode start and end, run start and end, two first-installation progression milestones, first achievement unlocks, aggregated run, loading, and performance summaries, coded runtime-error identifiers, telemetry health summaries, and the consent event itself. Every event is validated against that fixed schema on your device before it is sent; anything outside the schema is rejected.
Telemetry can never contain your name, email address, account identifiers, free text, chat, save data, file paths, logs, stack traces, screenshots, hardware fingerprints, crash dumps, or your precise location.
Where telemetry goes
Events are delivered over HTTPS to Microsoft PlayFab (part of Microsoft Azure), which ingests and stores them on our behalf as a processor. Like any internet service, PlayFab receives the network-level information needed to deliver the request, including your IP address; the events themselves contain no location or network data. Microsoft's handling of the service is governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement, and Microsoft processes service data under its Data Protection Addendum, which includes EU Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers where they apply. Playtest, demo, and release builds send to separate, isolated PlayFab projects.
Data retention
- Raw telemetry events are retained in PlayFab for 30 days and then expire.
- Events waiting to be sent are queued locally on your device for at most 7 days and are discarded after that (the queue is also capped in size).
- If you opt out, collection stops and the unsent local queue plus the installation identifier are purged immediately. Opting back in later creates a fresh identifier with no link to the old one.
- We may keep aggregate statistics derived from telemetry (for example, average session length across all players). Aggregates contain no identifiers.
This website
anfinor.games is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no JavaScript, uses no analytics or tracking pixels, embeds no third-party content, and has no forms. We cannot see who visits it.
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, operated by GitHub, Inc. As with any web host, GitHub may record standard server logs (including IP addresses) to operate and secure the service; see the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
Links to external services (Steam, Discord, X, TikTok, Instagram, Spotify) lead to platforms governed by their own privacy policies once you leave this site.
Our games on Steam
Purchases, wishlists, achievements, Playtest access, and similar platform features run through Steam and are governed by the Valve privacy policy. We do not receive your personal details from Steam.
Save files and settings are stored locally on your device. If platform cloud sync (such as Steam Cloud) is available and enabled, your platform provider stores a copy under its own policy.
Your choices and rights
The strongest control is the switch itself: telemetry is off by default in the released game, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings, which also purges unsent data and your installation identifier.
Because telemetry is anonymous and we deliberately keep no link between installation identifiers and people, we cannot look up which events belong to you. That means we are unable to single out your events for export or early deletion; all raw events expire on the 30-day schedule regardless. If you have any privacy question or request, email contact@anfinor.games and we will help to the extent the data allows.
We make no automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, and we do no profiling.
Crash reports and feedback
The game has no automatic crash reporting. No crash dumps, logs, stack traces, or system information are ever uploaded. If something breaks, the in-game Feedback panel shows our address, feedback@anfinor.games, and it is entirely up to you whether and what to send. Emails you send us are used only to handle your report and are not added to any marketing list.
Children
We collect no personal data from any player, including children. The telemetry described above contains no personal identifiers regardless of who is playing.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with an updated effective date. Material changes to what the games collect are also announced on the blog.
